3rd Edition of the Public Health and Midwifery World Conference 2027

Scientific Sessions - PHMWC 2027

Global and Community Health

Strong primary and community health care is the foundation of healthy populations. Community health workers, local organizations and well-designed health promotion programs can reach people where they live and prevent disease before it starts.

This session looks at what works in community-based health care and health promotion across different settings, from rural villages to large cities. It brings together public health practitioners, community health workers, nurses, midwives, researchers and program managers.

Key topics include primary health care and universal health coverage, community health worker programs, community-based communication and behaviour change models, health promotion and education, maternal and child health in the community, prevention of tuberculosis and other infections at community level, school and workplace health, community participation and ownership, scaling up successful programs, and the effects of global funding changes on community services.

We welcome implementation research, program evaluations, field experiences and policy analyses. Attendees will leave with practical models for strengthening health at the community level.
